Making A Booking

I’m returning an item that I bought

I’m returning an item that I bought

If you're returning an item you bought, if you bought the item abroad, and you paid tax and duty when the item was delivered to you, you should be able to reclaim that tax. In order to do so, you need to send the delivering courier, evidence you have returned the item.

Follow these steps:

  1. Contact the courier that delivered the item.

  2. Ask them for the ‘Customs entry number’, and inform them you plan to return the goods, and would like to re-claim the VAT you paid.

  3. Now process your return, ideally using the same courier that delivered the goods.

  4. On the customs invoice state:

    1. Reason for export: Return.

    2. Declaration statement: ‘Return of original tracking number {{state.tracking.number}} and customs entry number {{state.customs.entry.number}}

  5. Once shipped, contact the original courier that delivered the goods, provide them the new shipment information for the shipment containing the returned items.

  6. They should now be able to contact customs with the evidence in order to process your tax/duty reclaim.
